Mr. Paul drove from drake to clay and back. From drake, he drove 312 miles, took a break, and then drove 244 miles to clay. On his trip back to drake from clay, he drove 305 miles before he took a break. If he drove the same route back, how many miles did he drive the second part of his return trip? Answer key

Alright, lets get started.

In his first trip, Mr. Paul drove from drake to clay.

He drove 312 miles, took a break, and then drove 244 miles to clay.

It means the total distance between Drake to CLay will be
312 + 244 = 556 miles.

On his trip back to drake from clay, he drove 305 miles before he took a break.

So, teh remainig part of his return trip will be =
556 - 305 = 251 miles

He drive 251 miles the second part of his return trip : Answer

Hope it will help :)
