$30 is your answer

On the shopping trip, Peter spent 1/3 of his money: 30/3 = 10

He spends another $5. Add 10 with 5: 10 + 5 = 15

15/30 = 1/2 (he spent 1/2 of it, with half left)

$30 is your answer

hope this helps
