In “To Kill A Mockingbird” Aunt Alexandra is a portrayal of traditional Southern women. She plays the role of a woman with societal values. She is strict and is concerned towards raising Atticus' children properly. She is a representation of gender stereotypes and bigotry. She quashes all the tomboyish nature of Scout and prepares her to grow like a young lady. She teaches her to cook, look after the kitchen and dress like ladies. She stands for the family values and helps everyone in need.
