The Spanish were exploring the North American parts of the continent for one thing only, Gold.

In their search, the Barrier island, just off the coat of Georgria were easy to access and land by ship.

Here, the spanish met thousands of native people and killed many, as they plundered the land looking for Gold or other valuables.

At the end, the spanish, could not find anything valuable but set up christian missions on the island to convert the local population and take some of them as slaves and loot.
