6-6x=2(x+5)

(6-6x)/2 = x+5

6 - 6x = -2(x + 5)

  • Distribute -2 inside the parentheses.

6 - 6x = -2x - 10

  • Add 6x to both sides.

6 = 4x - 10

  • Add 10 to both sides.

16 = 4x

  • Divide both sides by 4.

x = 4
