Let's first convert the denominators into one both fractions can have. I usually just multiply the two denoninators.

11 x 8 = 88

8 x 11 = 88

Then I multiply the numerators by what I multiply their denominators by to get 88.

4 x 8 =32

3 x 11 = 33

32/88 + 33/88 = 65/88

65/88

I can't find number that can simplify 65/88, so I think that's the lowest terms!

Hope this helps.

Here is your answer:

  • (4)/(11) + (3)/(8)

  • (4)/(11)* 8 = (32)/(88)+(3)/(8) * 11 =(33)/(88)

  • 32 + 33 = 65 =(65)/(88)

  • = (65)/(88)

Therefore the answer is "65/88."

Hope this helps!
