Find the measures of the supplementary angles if their difference is equal to 35°

Set up a system of equations using the sum and difference equation.

x + y = 180 definition of supplementary angles

+ x - y = 35

2x = 215

x = 107.5

x + y = 180 ⇒ 107.5 + y = 180 ⇒ y = 72.5

Answer: 107.5 and 72.5
