Should we celebrate Columbus day?

i am writing an essay and my thesis is “we should not celebrate it because he did more harm than good” however i want to talk about how he did not discover america too, how can i change my thesis to include that as well?

If your argument is that he did actual harm, saying that he didn't discover the Americas could be included in the fact that he disturbed natives to the land perhaps.
