2|x−1| −4 = −2

2|x−1| = 2

2x - 2 = 2

2x = 4

x = 2

2|x−1| = -2

2x - 2 = -2

2x = 0

x = 0

And 2+0 = 2

2|x-1|-4= -2\\\\ 2|x-1|=2\\\\ |x-1|=1\\\\ x-1=1 \vee x-1=-1\\\\ x=2 \vee x=0\\\\ \boxed{2+0=2}
