as you may know, we start off to get the inverse of any expression by doing a quick switcheroo on the variables and then solving for y.

\bf \stackrel{f(x)}{y}=(x+2)^2-5\implies \stackrel{switcheroo}{\underline{x}=(\underline{y}+2)^2-5}\implies x+5=(y+2)^2 \\\\\\ √(x+5)=y+2\implies √(x+5)-2=\stackrel{f^(-1)(x)}{y}
