I'm assuming you need to simplify the expression. If this is the case, you simply have to distribute the 7 to each of the terms in the parenthesis. So, you have

7(x-4) = 7\cdot x - 7 \cdot 4 =7x-28

Simplify. Distribute 7 to all terms within the parenthesis

7(x) = 7x

7(-4) = -28

7x - 28 is your answer

hope this helps
