First off, we need to understand how scientific notation works, here are some examples:

10^2 = 10x10 = 100, 4^3 = 4x4x4 = 64

10^-1=0.1

10x10^-2 = 10x0.01x0.1 = 0.01, 4x10^-3 = 4x0.1^3 = 4x0.1x0.1x0.1 = 0.004

In this case:

5.8×10^−10

=5.8 x 0.1^10

=5.8 x 0.000000001

=0.00000000058

Hope it helps!

5.8x10^-10 is already in sciencific notation. To convert it to normal notation you move the decimal either the right OR left the number of places the exponet says. This case it is 10, but the negative determines the direction which is left (negative is left and positive is right.) Thus your answer is 0.00000000058
