Method #1:

(3^2)/(3^4)=(3^2)/(3^(2+2))=(3^2)/(3^2\cdot3^2)=(1)/(3^2)=(1)/(9)

Method #2:

(3^2)/(3^4)=3^(2-4)=3^(-2)=(1)/(3^2)=(1)/(9)

used:

(a^m)/(a^n)=a^(n-m)\\\\a^(-n)=(1)/(a^n)

Method #3:

(3^2)/(3^4)=(\\ot3\cdot\\ot3)/(\\ot3\cdot\\ot3\cdot3\cdot3)=(1)/(9)

Note that when you are dividing, and there is the same base, subtract

3^2/3^4 = 3^(2 - 4) = 3^(-2)

3^(-2) = 1/(3^2)

Simplify

1/(3^2) = 1/9

1/9 is your answer

hope this helps
