The answer is C because 50 cents per mile would look like .50m and then all you have to do is add the 5

You have 5 dollars that it costs PLUS 0.50 PER mile.

Writing your equation...

0.5m (m=per mile extra)

5(how much it initially costs)

0.5m+5

Thus, your answer, C.
