Slope = (3 - (-5)) / (-8-2) = 8/-10 = -4/5

y = -4/5x + b where b = slope intercept

when x = 2 y = -5 so:-

-5 = -4/5 * (2) + b

b = -5 + 8/5 =

Equation is y = -4/5 x - 17/5 answer

First find the slope: Y2-Y1/X2-X1 =-4/5 Then plug in 1 y coordinate and x coordinate to the equation: Y=mx+b Y=-4/5x +b Y=-4/5x-17/5
