It is given in the question that

point F is at -6 and point point G is at 12 .

And we have to find the distance between F and G. And for that, we need to subtract position of point F from position of point G .

That is


FG = 12-(-6)


FG = 12+6 \\ FG = 18

THerefore distance between F and G is 18 units .
