The error is that they had placed the numbers in the wrong placeholder. Remember that the Distance formula is
D=√((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2) .

Correct Work:


D=√((5-(-1))^2+(16-15)^2)\\D=√(6^2+1^2)\\D=√(36+1)\\D=√(37)\ \approx 6.08
