Given

A = 2k² -k -15

L = k² -9

Find

A/L

Solution

\displaystyle(A)/(L)=(2k^2-k-15)/(k^2-9)=((k-3)(2k+5))/((k-3)(k+3))\\\\=(2k+5)/(k+3)
