I have to write a biography for Spanish 3 and the intro must use saber and conocer. I understand the difference between the two but I don’t understand how I should write it. I’m writing about Selena Gomez, but every-time I try to use saber and conocer it doesn’t sound right.

Answer:

I hope this helps, and if you have any questions I am here to help :)

Step-by-step explanation:
Even for Spanish being my 1st language the conjuction "saber" is rather odd, so I understand how it can be a weird word. "Saber" means to know information, and "conocer" also means to know, but "conocer" is more for when you are familiar with something or someone.

For example, if I were to say "Yo la conozco" that would mean "I know her".

Since "saber" is for information and not people I would say, "Yo se de futbol." Which would translate to, "I know about football (soccer)".

I hope that makes the words seem less weird.

Also, I know Spanish classes use these so:

Yo conozco Vosotros conoceis

Tu conoces Nosotros conocemos

El/Ella conoce Ellos/Ellas conocen

Yo se Vosotros sabeis

Tu sabes Nosotros sabemos

El/ella sabe Ellos/Ellas saben
