If a car stops suddenly, why do the people inside keep moving?

Answer: The vehicle with its passengers has a movement with a speed. When the brakes are applied and the vehicle suddenly stops, the passengers have a tendency to conserve their speed due to inertia and therefore continue to move forward.

Hope this helps!
