The mean is the average of the numbers

to found the mean of n articles we add the values of all the articles and divide it by the number of articles .

Here we are given Articles as pumpkins

The value of an article is it's weight

the number of Articles = number of pumpkins = 4

Let us start finding mean of the weight of the pumpkins

(8 + 11 + 23 + 15 ) divide by 4

( 57 ) divide by 4 = 14.25

To round to nearest tenth first we make it : 14.3 ( 5 was >=5 ) so we removed 5 and add 1 in 2

Now it is 14 ( because 3 is < 5 so we removed it without any change in the digit left to it )

Now it is 10 ( as 4 is also <5 so we remove it without any change inthe digit left to it )

Answer : 10
