In this question, it is given that

Marcus bought pumpkins that weigh 8 lb, 11 lb, 23 lb, and 15 lb.

And we have to find the mean weight .

To find the mean weight, we will first add all the weights, then divide them by number of pumpkins which is 4.

So the mean weight is

Mean \ weight = (8+11+23 +15)/(4) = (57)/(4) = 14.25 lb

Therefore the mean weight is 14.25 lb .

Marcus bought pumpkins that weigh 8 lb, 11 lb, 23 lb, and 15 lb. What is the mean weight of his pumpkins?

Answer: Marcus has bought 4 pumpkins weighted 8 lb, 11 lb, 23 lb and 15 lb.

The mean weight of pumpkins is

Mean =
(Sum-of-weights-of-4-pumpkins)/(Number-of-pumpkins)

=(8+11+23+15)/(4)

=(57)/(4)

=14.3 lb

Therefore, the mean weight of his pumpkins is 14.3 lb
