We have the formula
\sqrt{(-2-1)^(2)+(-3-1)^(2)} =√(9+16) =√(25) = 5.

Let (-2, -3) represent A and (1, 1) represent B.

d_A_B} =√((X_A - X_B)^2 + (Y_A - Y_B)^2)

d_A_B} =√((-2 - 1)^2 + (-3 - 1)^2)

d_A_B} =√((-3)^2 + (-4)^2)

d_A_B} =√((9 +16)

d_A_B} =√((25)

d_A_B} = 5
