Damming the Colorado River:

Because of new and advanced technologies, people are able to adapt to their physical environment more easily than ever before.

While these technologies may make adaptation easier for humans, they have also caused changes to the environment.

Activities such as clearing forests for agriculture, mining for minerals, and damming rivers are all examples of humans using technology to adapt to their environment.

More than 100 dams have been built on the Colorado River to generate electricity and provide water for agricultural and urban use.

The reason dams are really bad for the environment because when you have a dam it can blow and flood really bad. Also all the sea life will have a harder time surviving!
