Why are accepted scientific ideas reliable?

The reason why accepted scientific ideas are reliable is because they "are based on a body of facts and repeated with experimentation." Look at it this way facts are true statements and if a accepted scientific idea is made up of facts it would mean it's reliable. Scientist also proven the idea by observation, and repeated experiments with the same results which would be a good reason why a accepted scientific idea is reliable when writing a research paper or any other type of writing.

Hope this helps!
