By definition, the volume of a cylinder is given by:

V =\pi r^2h

Where,

r: cylinder radius

h: cylinder height

From here, we clear the height.

We have then:

h = (V)/(\pi r^2 )

Then, replacing values we have:

h = (324\pi )/(\pi 6^2 )

h = 9 inches

Answer:

The least possible height of the container is 9 inches.
