For this case we define the following variable:

x: unknown number

We now write the equation that models the problem.

We have then:

4x = 52

From here, we clear the value of x:

x = (52)/(4)

x = 13

Therefore, the number we seek is equal to 13.

Answer:

The number we are looking for is equal to 13.
