Answer and Explanation:

To find : Explain why
(45)/(100) is written as decimal with a 4 in the tenths place and a 5 in the hundredths place ?

Solution :

When we write fraction as decimal we place decimal according to number of zeros in the denominator.

As
(45)/(100)=0.45

According to place value system,

Ones | Tenths Hundredths

0 4 5

As first digit to the right of decimal point is basically tenths place and second digit to the right of decimal point is basically hundredths place.

So, When we write
(45)/(100) in decimal form i.e. 0.45 then 4 in the tenths place and a 5 in the hundredths place.
