Let the length of the side of the square wall = x meter

We know that area of the square
= x^2, where x is the side of the wall

Given that rate of expenditure for 1 square meter of the wall = 25 rupees

Then total expenditure on
x^2 meter of the wall
= 25x^2

Given that total expenditure on the wall = 176400 rupees

Then both expressesions for the expenditure will be equal and we get equation:

25x^2=176400

x^2=(176400)/(25)

x^2=7056

take square root of both sides

x=84

Hence final answer is 84 meter.

It is given in the question that

Surface of a square wall is paved with tiles.The total expenditure at the rate Rs 25 per sq.m is RS.1 76 400.

Let the side be of length s meter .

And area of square is

Area = s^2

So according to question ,

25s^2 = 176400

Dividing both sides by 25

s^2 = 7056

Taking square root to both sides,

s = √(7056) \\ s =84 meter

So the required side length is 84 meter .
