First find the area of the rectangle.

Area of Rectangle= Lenght×Width
Area of Rectangle=10×5
Area of Rectangle =50cm^2

Then you find the area of the triangle.

Area of Triangle= Length×Height
Area of Triangle=8×5
Area of Triangle=40cm^2

Add the two areas to find the area of the whole figure.

50 + 40 = 90cm^2
