Plug in the numbers
(2)(5)+4(5)
You would follow PEMDAS
So we would multiply first
2•5=10, so now the equation looks like this
10+4(5)
Now we multiply 4 and 5 which would be 20
Now we have 10+20
That gives you the answer of 30

Evaluate x y + 4 y where y = 5 and x = 2:

x y + 4 y = 2×5 + 4×5

2×5 = 10:

10 + 4×5

4×5 = 20:

20 + 10
