Angles 13 and 14 form a straight line, so this means they must add up to 180 degrees.

  • Make them add up to 180 in an equation.

(4x + 11) + (3x + 1) = 180

  • Combine like terms.

7x + 12 = 180

  • Subtract 12 from both sides.

7x = 168

  • Divide both sides by 7.

x = 24

  • Plug 24 for x into angle 13 and 14.

Angle 13 = 4(24) + 11 = 107

Angle 14 = 3(24) + 1 = 73
