The answer is (-2,6). -2 will replace x variable and 6 will replace the y variable. when it is plug in you may simplify.

x + 1/2 y =1 .... -2 + 1/2 * 6 = 1 .... (half of 6 is 3) ..... -2 + 3 = 1 .... 1 = 1

Answer:

Option a) (-2,6)

Explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

x+\displaystyle(1)/(2)y=1

a)(-2,6)

(-2)+\displaystyle(1)/(2)(6)=-2 + 3 = 1

Thus, it is a solution of the given equation.

b)(2,-6)

(2)+\displaystyle(1)/(2)(-6)=2 - 3 = -1

Thus, it is not a solution of the given equation.

c)(-2,-6)

(-2)+\displaystyle(1)/(2)(-6)=-2 - 3 = -5

Thus, it is not a solution of the given equation.
