Remote sensing is the examination or the gathering of information about a place from a distance. The first way to gather remote sensing data is through radar. Its most important uses are for air traffic control and the detection of storms or other potential disasters.Another type of remote sensing data comes from lasers. These are often used in conjunction with radar altimeters on satellites to measure things like wind speeds and their direction and the direction of ocean currents.

Answer:

Remote sensing is the process in which the physical characteristic of an area is measured from a distance and works by collecting the emitted and reflected radiation.

It is used to get the images of earth which helps the geographers to study about Earth.

Doppler radar is used by the geographers in studying the meteorological data. Lasers are also used, they work with radar altimeters on the satellites for measuring wind speeds and direction of ocean currents. LIDAR is another technique used by the geographers, LIDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging. It is used in weapons ranging. but the geographers use it for measuring the atmosphere and the height of the objects on the ground.
