The total cost after tax to repair Carl’s engine is represented by 0.095(125h)+125h, where h represents the number of hours it takes to repair Carl’s engine. What part of the expression represents the amount of tax Carl has to pay? Explain

I would say that the answer is the first piece of the equation [0.095(125h)]. The 125h is the amount that Carl is paying for the repair, so the tax amount would be 0.095 times the cost. (He would be paying about $11.88 in tax per hour of repair. I got this by multiplying 0.095 and 125.)
