The maximum resolution of the light microscope at the maximum level of magnification of x1500 is 200 nanometres. Resolution is the limit of being able to distinguish between two close points clearly.
Based on cell size, the following cells can be seen with the light microscope:
1. Paramecium: It has a size of 0.25 mm, which is well above the resolution limit of 200 nm.
2. Bacterium: It has a size in the range 0.25 microns to 10 microns.
3. Red Blood Cell: It has a size of 8 microns, which is greater than 200 nm.
4. Eukaryotic nucleus: It has a size of 6 microns or micrometers.
