Because the bouyancy of something also depends on it's weight (mass).

When you unload a ship, less gravity is applied to it (gravity pulls things down), so that is why it rises.

Answer:

B

Hope it helped,

HEYA!!!

When the ship is unloaded then the weight of the ship decreases, so, the buoyant force required to keep the shipfloating also decreases. ... Thus, the volume of ship below water level also decreases. This makes the ship to rise above water.
