Step-by-step explanation;

-Kettles are depressions left behind after partially-buried ice blocks melt. They are formed as a result of blocks of ice calving from glaciers and becoming submerged in the sediment on the out wash plain. Many are filled with water, and are then called kettle lakes.

-An erratic is a boulder transported and deposited by a glacier having a lithology different than the bedrock upon which it is sitting. Erratics are useful indicators of patterns of former ice flow.
