Hello!

The problem given says, for every piece of chicken, it costs $2.25. Firstly, we can assign some variables, y is the total price, and x is the number of chickens bought.

Therefore, the function representing this situation is y = 2.25x.

With that equation, we can substitute the number of chickens into our equation and solve. Remember that y is also f(x).

f(1) = 2.25(1) = 2.25

f(2) = 2.25(2) = 4.5

f(3) = 2.25(3) = 6.75

f(4) = 2.25(4) = 9

f(5) = 2.25(5) = 11.25

For the coordinate plane, vertically (x-axis), for every 5 spaces, there is 1 piece of chicken, and horizontally (y-axis), for every 2 spaces, there is 1 dollar (or every 1 space, there is 0.50 cents).

I have posted the graph and the table of values. Remember that x is the pieces of chicken, and y is total price on the coordinate plane and the table of values.

To finish the table, you multiply 2.25 by each number.
1 = 2.25
2= 4.50
3 = 6.75
4 = 9.00
5 = 11.25
You would then label the bottom line with 1,2,3,4,and 5 on the bold lines.
You would label the left line with 2.25, 4.50, 6.75, 9.00, and 11.25. 0 would be in the bottle left corner. Finally, you would put dots where the numbers from the table line up on the graph.
