Let b = width
l = length
Then, l = 2b - 2 ----------(i)
and, Perimeter = 86 cm
=> 2(l+b) = 86
=> 2b - 2 + b = 86/2
=> 3b = 43 +2
=> b = 45/3 = 15
=> b = 15
Putting the value of b in equation(i)
And, l = 2Ă—15 - 2
= 30-2
= 28
Hence, length = 28 cm
width = 15 cm
