For every triangle, the sum of the interior angles is 180 degrees.

That means (2x+5) + 19 + 62 must equal 180 degrees.

Combining the numerals on the left: 19 + 62 + 5 + 2x = 180

and 86 + 2x = 180, so that 2x = 94. Thus, x = 47.

Thus, the 3 interior angles of this triangle are {19, 62 and 99}.

The three angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees, so make all the angles of this triangle add up to 180 in an equation.

19 + (2x + 5) + 62 = 180

  • Combine like terms.

86 + 2x = 180

  • Subtract 86 from both sides.

2x = 94

  • Divide both sides by 2.

x = 47 is your answer.
