A company will start you with a base pay and add on a certain amount each year, lets turn this into a mathematical expression:
Lets let y=total pay , c=base pay , x= number of years , f = money added each year
We have: y= fx + c
We are looking for the total pay in 10 years for both cases so x will equal 10 for both.
Company A : y= $2600 (10)+ $19,000 .... y= 45000
Company B : y= $1200 (10)+ $27,000 ... y=39000
This means Company A will pay more in the span of 10 years.
