x^(a)x^(b) =x^(a+b)\\ \\x^(8)x^(3)= x^(11)\\ \\Answer:\ x^(11).

But\ x^(8)y^(3) \ cannot\ be\ simplified.

x^(8) *y^(3) can only be written as
x^(8)* y^(3) or as
x^(8) y^(3). One has the multiplication sign the other does not, which is why we put it together, because we know that if they are together they will be multiplied.

I hope this helps, if you have any other question on this or any other question, just ask. I am here to help.
