Let the width of the rectangular park be w yard . And it is given that the length is 8 yd more than 3 times the width . SO length is

`(3w+8) yd`

The formula of perimeter of rectangle is

`Perimeter = 2(length + width)`

Substituting the given value of perimeter in the formula, we will get

`624 = 2(w+3w+8) \\ 312 = 4w + 8 \\ 304 = 4w \\ w = 76yd`

So the width is 76 yd and the length is

`3(76)+ 8 = 236 yd`
