The Tropic of Capricorn (or the Southern Tropic) is the circle of latitude that contains the subsolar point on the December (or southern) solstice. It is thus the southernmost latitude where the Sun can be directly overhead. Its northern equivalent is the Tropic of Cancer.

Answer:

The relative location of the 'Tropic of Capricorn' in relation to the equator is 23.5° to the south of the equator.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • A relative location is one that needs to be specified on the basis of a location of some other known landmark.
  • Here in this example, the equator acts as the landmark on the basis of which, the relative location of the 'Tropic of Capricorn' can be easily specified.
  • To depict a relative location there has to be a point of reference which can be used to define the location of the other given point.
