You are asked for a rate in meters per day. That means you need to divide the number of meters by the number of days.

((3)/(4)~m) / ((1)/(3)~day) =

= (3~m)/(4) / (1~day)/(3)

= (3~m)/(4) * (3)/(1~day)

= (3 * 3)/(4 * 1) ~(m)/(day)

= (9)/(4) (m)/(day)

= 2.25~(m)/(day)

in 1/3 of the day, the glacier moves 3/4 of a meter

Multiply 3 with 1/3 to get a whole day

3 x 1/3 = 1

Multiply 3 with 3/4 of a meter too, to get the amount moved in 1 day

3 x 3/4 = 9/4

9/4, or 2 1/4 meters is your answer

hope this helps
