Parallel means that they go in the same direction and they don’t intersect and have the same slope. The slope of a line parallel to y=1/2x+3 is 1/2.

Hope it helps and is correct :)

paralell lines have the same slope

in form y=mx+b, m is the slope

given
y=(1)/(2)x+3, we can match and compare with y=mx+b form

y=(1)/(2)x+3

vs

y=mx+b

we can see that
m=(1)/(2) and
b=3

this tells us that m, the slope, is equal to
(1)/(2)

since parallell lines have the same slope, the slope of a line paralell to
y=(1)/(2)x+3 is
(1)/(2)

the slope of a line paralell to
y=(1)/(2)x+3 is
(1)/(2)
