PLZ HELP !!! Ms. Hernandez and her twins are in front of a gumball machine that contains red, blue and purple gumballs. Nine gumballs are purple, 25% of the gumballs are red, and the remaining 60% are blue. How many of the gumballs are red and how many are blue? Explain how you know your answer is correct.

.6+.25 = .85
100% - .85 = .15
then .15x=9, our x=60
remember.25(60) are red, our 15

Blue Gumballs = 36

Explanation:

Let the total number of gumballs = x

Given, Red Gumballs = 25% of x

Blue Gumballs = 60% of x

So, there must be number of Purple Gumballs= 100% - (60% + 25%) = 15%

⇒ 15% of x = 9

⇒
`x = (9*100)/(15) = 60`

∴ Red Gumballs = 25% of 60 = 15

and Blue Gumballs = 60% of 60 = 36
