k:\ y=m_1x+b_1\\l:\ y=m_2x+b_2\\\\l\ ||\ k\iff\ m_1=m_2\\\\\text{we have}\ k:\ 5y-7x=10\ \ \ |+7x\\5y=7x+10\ \ \ |:5\\y=(7)/(5)x+2\to m_1=(7)/(5)\to m_2=(7)/(5)\\\\\text{Answer:}\ m=(7)/(5)=1(2)/(5)=1.4

5y - 7x = 10
5y = 7x + 10
y = 7/5x + 2

If two lines are parallel then it means they have the same slope.
The slope of a line parallel to the Line in the equation would also be 7/5x.
