Consider the following figure :

In the figure ,


EF=AB=14 ft\\FD=CH=22 ft\\\Rightarrow ED=EF+FD=14+22=36 ft


AG=BH=4 ft\\GE=CD=12 ft\\\Rightarrow AE=AG+GE=4+12=16 ft

We need to find perimeter of ABHCDEA . It's sides are AB , BH , HC , CD , DE , EA .

As per the definition of perimeter , perimeter of ABHCDEA equal to sum of lengths of all it's sides .

Perimeter of ABHCDEA = AB + BH + HC+CD + DE + EA

We have


AB=14 ft\\BH=4 ft\\CH = 22 ft\\CD=12 ft\\DE = 36 ft\\AE=16 ft

So, Perimeter of ABHCDEA = 14+4+22+12+36+16 = 104 ft
